It was at a young age that Adil Baguirov recognized the United States could be an ideal location for achieving his business dreams. Freedoms provided to all Americans and the lure of a valuable education brought Baguirov from his home in the Soviet Union -- today known as Azerbaijan -- to the U.S. He forgoed studies at a law school in Moscow to attend a smaller school in Michigan, and he was only 15 years old.
Although his education in Michigan was short-lived, Baguirov continued his educational pursuits at the University of Southern California where he graduated in 1999 with a degree in business administration and international relations. Since then, he has worked fully in business, including his current position since 2013 as a principal with American Power in Dayton, Ohio. He has also since earned his PhD from MGIMO University.
